The Voice Season 6 Final Results REVIEW
12 Hours...That's how crazy things can get
In the space of twelve voting hours after last night's final performance show
Jake Worthington of Team Blake somehow someway along with all 3 of his
final performance single was managed to sneak into iTunes's Top 10
While Christina Grimmie the 20 year old internet/YouTube sensation tailing closely behind
but than controversy show it's dirty face...
Team Usher's Josh Kaufman's final performance single "Set Fire To The Rain"
was nowhere to be found & was thus not available for downloads...
So based on iTunes alone the standing were:
1. Jake Worthington
2. Christina Grimmie
3. Josh Kaufman
Meanwhile in Twitter land Team Adam's Internet sensation was the only trending contestant
coming out of last night's final performance show
#GrimmieForTheWin was trended worldwide for hours before eventually becoming
the no.1 trending topic in the world
Grimmie who shockingly landed in bottom 3 during last week's semi-final
was saved last minutes via Instant save based on Twitter vote
seems like to have her army of followers starting to slowly but surely building momentum
before the closed of voting
& so it seems like it could be one of those season where contestant from either
Team Blake or Team Adam was going to win it all
& than believe it or not Fairness prevail on the opening segment of the final results show
when host Carson Daly announced that due to Josh Kaufman's missing single
All votes via iTunes will not be added into the final results
stating that eliminating iTunes votes would not affect the final results
(If you believe it won't, i sure as hell don't)
Meaning Jake's 3 Top 10 iTunes sales were all for nothing
Thus throwing Season 6's winner into complete uncertainty for the next hour and a half
So,with iTunes voting out of the equation
The only other way to possibly predict a winner comes down to
online voting...& based solely on online voting through The Voice's official website
the standing were:
1. Christina Grimmie
2. Josh Kaufman
3. Jake Worthington
A standing that most would predicted to be the final standing until one final twist shocked us all
We're into the final 5 minutes of Season 6
Christina Grimmie, Josh Kaufman & Jake Worthington are all on center stage
Host Carson Daly is about to announce the winner...
Adam, Usher & Blake nervously staring upon their team member
Shakira the only coach left without a contestant is as eager as the rest to find out
who is the winner of season 6...
Through all the blind audition...battle round...playoff...live show
& even every year routine's Kia giveaway...
The moment has arrived to find out the Sixth winner of NBC's reality singing competition
The studio stood in complete silent as Carson open his mouth & announced the contestant
coming in third...which will turned out to be the one final twist in the season...
Contestant finishing in Third place
Christina Grimmie of Team Adam.... !!!!!
What The Fuck...was the first thought that came out of my mind...
the fans favorite...the twice no.1 trended contestant on twitter the ONLY trended
contestant on twitter this season...& probably the most marketable contestant of the show
ended her Voice journey in third...How did Jake Worthington beat out Grimmie is beyond me
Still stunned & shocked by the final results we're down to the final 2...
Team Usher's Josh Kaufman & Team Blake's Jake Worthington...
Blake a former 3 time winner of the show
While Usher is yet to score a win...
& with former 2 time & only other previous Voice winning coach Adam now out of the race
for season 6's crown
it seems like the worst & most shocking outcome was about to happen
Than...Carson Daly announced the winner of season 6 of The Voice...
JOSH KAUFMAN!!!!
Thank god! i screamed...for a second...
i really though the unthinkable & unworthy 4th win of Blake Shelton were about to happen
& with that the right guy won the whole thing...
the guy who name was creating the least buzz the previous night won out through
call in & text message votes
Thus making Usher the third coach in the show history to win The Voice
Final Results:
Third Place: Christina Grimmie (Team Adam)
Runner Up: Jake Worthington (Team Blake)
(Ugh...WTF!? HIM? Second place?Really?)
Winner: Josh Kaufman (Team Usher)
Not gonna lie...Season 6 had been one of the worst season of The Voice since Season 2
Sure the right guy won...but seriously...at the age of 39 Josh Kaufman WILL find it hard to
succeed post show...& will likely ended up becoming one of those flopped winner
Look at previous Voice winners...with the exception of Cassadee Pope
who is being nominated for CMT awards
How is other Voice winner fairing with their post Voice career?
Season 1 winner Javier Colon is dropped from his label after his album flopped
Season 2 winner Jermaine Paul is STILL struggling to put out an album...
he won the show 2 years ago...& still no album...
Season 4 winner Danielle Bradbery's debut album landed on top of iTunes country album chart
same as Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope did with her debut album...
She had a song for the Winter Olympic but had since disappeared from mainstream as well
with her debut single "Heart Of Dixie" failing to match the success of Cassadee Pope's
"Wasting All These Tears"...but at the age of just 17...
she could still find success in the future provided her record label don't drop her
Season 5 winner Tessanne Chin has a debut single ("Tumbling Down")
written personally by One Republic's Ryan Tedder came out the same exact moment
when she was announced the winner of The Voice last fall,
her future seems bright being the first & only foreign winner of the show
But ever since than her career has been like her debut single titled...Tumbling Down...
Tumbling Down flopped & failing to crack into iTunes top 50 peaking at just no.38 on iTunes
With that...Season 6 newly crowned winner Josh Kaufman for me,
his future won't be any much different from them...
his genre of music (soul, r&b) doesn't fit into the modern pop culture
At age 39...he is already in the twilight of his career
If or when his debut single/album flopped
you have to wonder how much more chances will he be given
before being drop by his label
& you won't know if he will even be given another chance should his album flops
No offense but he may have or be The Voice but he don't have The Look
& thus is not marketable...
That being said & speaking of marketability,
seriously hopes that Adam Levine kept his words & sign Christina to a deal
she is the definitely the one to look out for in the future...
Season 7 of The Voice will return this fall with Shakira & winning coach Usher
set to be replaced by Gwen Stefani & Pharrell Williams...GOSH...
guess that will be the season i'm finally sitting out on...
Looking forward for Season 8 when Christina Aguilera returns
In closing,
Despite still in shock & dismay that Jake beat out Christina for second place
& not having much faith in the rightful winner Josh Kaufman's future
I will still offers my sincere congratulate to the winner Josh...
& may you prove me wrong
